Day 3 - Flying Frog and Sailing - Rough life, huh?

It has been another wonderful day in Nicaragua! Today was full of sun and adventure. Here is Jamie’s account of the day…

“Hey everyone! Hey Momma! Today was our first morning in San Juan del Sur. We all woke up to freshly made breakfast in a cute little courtyard, and of course the coffee was delicious like it has been since we got here. Then a truck picked us all up, and we drove to a tropical forest type place to do the Flying Frog zip line tour. We took a truck to the top of the mountain after getting all our gear. There were about 16 or 17 zip lines to make it back to the bottom. It was a lot of fun and being able to see the trees and forest from above was beautiful. We also saw monkeys! Then we quickly came back to change into bathing suits so we could go on a sailing tour. We all got on the boat and sailed an hour up the coast. We were able to swim around for an hour or two and swam to the beach to collect shells. The three guys that own the boat made us sandwiches and this delicious dip stuff that is sour cream, beans, and tomatoes (yes, Momma, I actually ate it!). After staying there a bit, we made the trip back, and most of us had sunburns. Today was amazing fun even though we were out and about the whole time. All of us are going to sleep very well tonight!!! We are having a great time!”

Enjoying our morning cafe con leche!

It's all downhill from here!

Claressa did great despite her fear of heights!

Kiki's new treasures

Our dinner tonight gave us an opportunity to have some fresh seafood while we listened to the surf! Tomorrow, we get to the most exciting part of the trip. We get to start getting involved in the community. We are visiting a school in the morning and eating a lunch prepared by some of the locals. Then we will go on a tour of a community project called “The Earthship.”

No podemos esperar a ayudar!
